How to Set Up IPTV on Android TV & Google TV
Android TV and Google TV give you the easiest install of all, because the app you need is already in the Google Play Store. Nothing has to be sideloaded. This covers Sony, Philips, TCL, Hisense and the Google TV Streamer.
Before you configure the app, make sure you have an active IPTV Canada subscription. If you have not chosen a provider yet, read our guide to the best IPTV Canada service first — you will need a login before step one.
Android TV & Google TV: step by step
Follow these in order. The whole thing takes about 4 minutes.
- 1
Open the Google Play Store
From your Android TV home screen open the Play Store and search for "TiviMate IPTV Player". Install it. TiviMate is free to use and is the cleanest player for a TV remote.
- 2
Add your playlist
Open TiviMate and choose "Add playlist", then "Xtream Codes". Enter the server URL, username and password from your welcome email.
- 3
Let the guide load
TiviMate downloads the full electronic programme guide on its own. Give it about one minute the first time so all seven days of listings are ready.
- 4
Arrange your channels
Open the TiviMate settings and use Playlists, then Channel groups, to hide anything you do not watch. Most Canadians keep Sports, Local, News and Kids visible and hide the rest.
That is it — you are watching
All 54,000+ channels and 195,000+ films and series are now on your Android TV, with a full seven day TV guide. If anything looks wrong, message live support and we will fix it with you.
